In 2004, I interned at VH1 working with a production team including editors and art designers on the television special, Best of Before They Were Rockstars. My responsibilities included gathering images, monitoring animation sessions and sitting with editors to watch progress. I was able to see the Ken Burns Effect in action as still images came to life in this clip show. And, while there were some questionable choices when it came to the choice of "rock stars" (Catherine Zeta-Jones? The Rock?), it was a wonderful taste of the television dream I had been nursing since high school.
